Are you interested in taking a class at a community college? As a high school student you are required to apply and complete a Concurrent Enrollment form every semester.

College courses are not make up for High School classes. The purpose of college classes during high school is for enrichment. Therefore, we highly ENCOURAGE students to have a 3.0 GPA to take college courses.

Steps to register for Rio Hondo classes
DATA CONFIRMATION MUST BE COMPLETE BEFORE STUDENTS BEGIN THE NEXT STEPS
STEP 1 Complete a Rio Hondo application online every semester.
When you complete your application online make sure you use your PERSONAL EMAIL and your LEGAL NAME. Your name needs to match your birth certificate and match our school records.
- Apply to Rio Hondo College through CCC Apply
- Go to Rio Hondo to complete the steps to apply: https://www.riohondo.edu/
- Within 24 hours Rio Hondo will email you your Rio ID number and Rio email
- Make sure to keep your Rio Hondo ID number for future use, it begins with 001

- If you are a NEW student and you have NEVER taken community college classes before Click Here
- If you are a RETURNING student and have taken community college classes before Click Here
STEP 2 - Complete the Parent/Guardian Authorization Form
- Parent/guardian will create an account using dynamic forms
- This form is completed only once during high school
- Once the form has been signed by the parent/guardian, your counselor will receive it
STEP 3 - Submit your Petition for Dual Enrollment
- Sign in to your Rio Hondo account
- Select the correct term you are requesting a petition for
- Complete and sign the form
- Once the form is submitted, you will receive an email with the next steps to register

STEP 4 - Register for a course
- You will receive an email letting you know that you can add your class to your portal
- The email will contain all the step to add your class
